If you want to send a quick e-mail, just type mailto: in the Run box (found in the Start menu), or create a shortcut. This will avoid you having to navigate to Outlook Express and click New Mail Message.

Another way to quickly achieve the same thing is by typing mailto: in the Address: box of Internet Explorer.
