Tip 85: Configure Microsoft Outlook Express as a News reader only and not as an email client To disable the email capabilities within Outlook Express, simply add /outnews to the end of the Outlook Express command. For example, from the command prompt, type: msimn /outnews When you start the application in this mode, you’ll notice the Inbox folder is missing and the Mail option under the Accounts menu is no longer available. You can also place the /outnews option outside the quotes to alter shortcuts. For example, you can change the shortcut path: "C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" to "C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /outnews to launch Outlook Express as a news client only.
