XP provides built-in zip support so that you can open compressed files as if they were folders.
However, if you use a third-party program, such as WinZip, XP’s built-in zip handling might
get in the way. To disable XP’s zip support, perform the following steps:
- Select Run from the Start menu -> Enter
- Type: regsvr32 /u %windir%\system32\zipfldr.dll and Click OK
- Restart the computer.
To (re)enable XP’s zip support, perform the following steps:
- Select Run from the Start menu -> Enter
- Type: regsvr32 %windir%\system32\zipfldr.dll and Click OK
- Restart the computer.
